Notion export guide

How to export your data from Notion.

For a Notion page, open the ••• menu and choose Export. For a workspace copy, use Settings → General → Export all workspace content on the web or desktop. Choose the format for the copy you need.

Save your export

  1. Choose the scope

Export one page from its ••• menu, or request the workspace export under Settings → General.

  2. Choose a format

Page options include PDF, HTML, or Markdown & CSV. Availability depends on the content and account.

  3. Download and check

Save the export when ready. Workspace download links last seven days. Check important pages and attachments.

What to check if it doesn’t appear

  • A workspace export excludes pages the exporting account cannot access.
  • Workspace administrators can restrict export; check with your administrator if the option is missing.
  • Use Notion on the web or desktop for the workspace export flow.

Keep the archive as your original copy

Download the file somewhere you can find again. Open it and check that the material you expected is present before changing or closing your original account. Exporting a copy does not require deleting the source.

An account archive can contain much more than the document you want to work on. Select the relevant passage or document rather than sending an entire archive into an AI conversation.

Bring selected work into Quartz

  1. Choose the useful material

Find the draft or passages you want to continue. Include the context needed to understand them.

  2. Create a document

Once you have workspace access, paste the content into a Quartz document. For an existing Word file, use File → Import → Word document.

  3. Check the result

Review formatting and source references. Ask a focused question about the document, then choose which response passages to insert.

An archive is not a full workspace transfer

Quartz does not import a complete account archive from this product. Conversation trees, account settings, permissions, and workspace structure are not automatically recreated. Keep the archive for reference and move the work you want to develop.

The public Quartz demo is a way to try the conversation. It does not replace your own account archive or provide a full migration service.

A few practical questions

The short ones are here. For anything else, ask below.

Will exporting delete my Notion content?

The export steps create a copy. They are separate from deleting content or closing an account.

Can I upload the entire export into Quartz?

There is no automatic full-account import. Select content to paste into a document, or import a Word file. Check the resulting document before relying on it.

Can I start using Quartz today?

Quartz is opening access through its waitlist. You can explore the public demo, then join the waitlist for your own workspace. Signing in is for people who already have access.
