Poe review

Poe for exploring AI: what happens after the answer?

Poe is relevant if trying different bots is part of how you work. If your goal is a finished document, include comparison, revision, and reuse in your evaluation.

A real option for model exploration

Poe offers bots from multiple providers, uses points for responses, and documents comparison follow-up actions. Model variety is a meaningful part of its proposition.

Our view: evaluate that variety through a few representative tasks. A catalog is most useful when you can connect a model choice to something you need to accomplish.

Bring a task you can repeat

Use a short memo with a clear audience. Ask one question, compare another response, and continue the line of thinking that seems most useful. Finish by putting the resulting decision into the memo.

Notice where you pause to rebuild context or move content. Those moments tell you whether the conversation environment fits the work. They are more informative than counting how many models appear in a picker.

Look at usage over a working session

Include follow-ups and the context required to get useful answers. Read the current usage information in the product; a cost estimate for a short prompt may not describe a long document session.

This review does not assign a numerical score or claim measured performance. The right question is whether the workflow gives you enough useful variation without making the final decision harder.

A question to start with

When to evaluate Quartz

Quartz is designed around the move from different responses to a document you can own and edit. If that is where your work tends to stall, compare the two workflows on one real draft. If exploration is already working well in Poe, there may be no reason to move it.

A few practical questions

The short ones are here. For anything else, ask below.

Is model comparison unique to Quartz?

No. Poe documents ways to compare responses. Our comparison focuses on the path from those responses into an editable document.

Can I start using Quartz today?

Quartz is opening access through its waitlist. You can explore the public demo, then join the waitlist for your own workspace. Signing in is for people who already have access.

Does agreement between AIs mean the answer is correct?

No. Agreement can help you identify a common view, but models can share an error. Check important claims against original evidence. Different answers are a reason to investigate, not a vote you have to follow.
