ChatGPT alternatives

When you need more than another answer from ChatGPT.

Start with what feels missing. Consider Quartz for comparing perspectives around a document, Claude for an artifact-based drafting workflow, Poe for exploring bots, or Gemini Notebook for working from a collection of sources.

Name the friction before you switch

If your answers are generic, try giving your current tool a real constraint, a short draft, and the decision you need to make. Moving a vague prompt to another product may simply give you a differently worded vague answer.

An alternative becomes useful when it changes the work itself: how you compare possibilities, retain context, revise the draft, or check evidence. Choose around that missing step.

When staying with ChatGPT makes sense

ChatGPT already includes Canvas for editing and Projects for organizing context. If the missing piece is keeping a long-running task together, explore that workflow before replacing it.

Our view: use Quartz when comparing perspectives is a recurring part of finishing a document. A second workspace should earn its place by improving a decision you actually make, not by adding another subscription to remember.

Start with one document

Keep your current account and archive. Test the alternative on a small, non-sensitive piece of work first. Compare the quality of the follow-up, not just the opening reply. You do not need to migrate your entire chat history to learn whether a different workflow helps.

A question to start with

A few practical questions

The short ones are here. For anything else, ask below.

Which ChatGPT alternative is best?

There is no universal winner. The useful comparison is between workflows for your task: source review, drafting, model exploration, or turning several perspectives into a document.

Can I start using Quartz today?

Quartz is opening access through its waitlist. You can explore the public demo, then join the waitlist for your own workspace. Signing in is for people who already have access.

Does agreement between AIs mean the answer is correct?

No. Agreement can help you identify a common view, but models can share an error. Check important claims against original evidence. Different answers are a reason to investigate, not a vote you have to follow.
